Jehovah-Mekaddishkem (Ex 31:13)
The fourth need of His people was sanctification. Israel were commanded to keep the Lord's sabbaths, a sign that they were different from the nations around them. They were promised that if they did so they would know Him as Jehovah-Mekaddishkem, “The Lord who sanctifies”.
Proverbs 13: v. 3
He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.
Romans 12:v. 1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Today is my first day on the blog. I signed up to get body/temple in a healthy state and begin to allow the Lord to fully be Jehovah-Mekaddishkem in my life. I listed the above as a starting point for my self and anyone else looking for a starting point.
I've been seeking the Lord over the past few months to rid my life of all the clutter and the work he will have me do. I sought his face to have everything in my life revealed for what it truly was, as far as the people around me, the job I was working, and what the difference was from 2007 to 2010. The difference was I slacked up on everything he'd begin teaching me from the Sabbath to my focus on where I was volunteering in the ministry. My focus is back and he's already revealed some hindrances like what I watch (General Hospital) to the music I listen to ( I had to delete a lot of stuff). Even though subconsciously I figured if I put gospel in one folder and secular in another folder, it was still effecting me. So, its gone and I can feel the difference in my mind and spirit already. My focus is stronger. I've also been seeking his face about being sanctified unto him and carrying a pure heart and practicing holiness and character and integrity. These are important. I've had people (strangers) tell me I was different and ask me what it was. Of course I talked about Jesus and they'd clamp down like a irritant to an oyster, but its all good. I did my job.
Any who, Proverbs touches on the person who talks too much. Please note when I'm writing or typing its going to be long because I've always been able to write or type longer than actually talking verbally. I have more come across my heart when I'm writing. Its always a good thing to know godly men like MOSES wasn't good with the speech thing either and Father God still used him in a mighty way. Next to my Big Brother (Jesus) & Esther, he's an inspiration for me. But, we have to remember the gateways to our hearts (our Garden of Eden) is through our EYES, MOUTH, & EARS. We always have to practice being tactful and watch whats coming out and going in our mouths in this case.
* Begin to practice not accepting every battle. Let somethings ride, Jesus will take care of it. Don't always be so quick to voice your opinion. I see this a lot at church and on the streets and my first thought is, "what makes us different again?" I can't tell a Christian from a secular Joe (no pun intended) . It hinders the growth of the kingdom and effects members of the body when this stuff is witnessed. Lets all take a second and ask the Father to sanctify us in our speech and in our actions.
Thirdly, in Romans we're asked to present ourselves, our bodies as a living sacrifice unto the Lord. Lets go into this 60 day challenge or continue in this 60 day challenge with this in mind. Build your foundation on this, as I am, and by doing this I believe the Lord will be able to use us at a greater capacity than he's already done. I also believe that when we're all doing this we will begin to see the greater works Jesus talked about and the non-believers won't be able to dispute or reason anything away from it.
Have a "We-Win" day...and acknowledge the Holy Spirit everyday.
